Class Name: Level 2+/3 Essential Plus PowerMatLocation: Both AFC Aerobics room and imotion fitness room
Pre-requisite: Level 1 Introduction to Pilates. The focus of Level 2+/3 Essential Plus classes is to complete the Essential Matwork repertoire with an increase in pace, flow and transition between exercises. Also a great choice of class for those needing to review the Level 1 exercises and the five STOTT principles.
Class Name: Levels 3 to 6 PowerMat
Location: Both AFC Aerobics room and imotion fitness room
PowerMat Classes: After learning the Essential exercises in both Level 1 and Level 2/3, the focus in the powermat classes is on a review and increased pace of the Essential Matwork (Level 3), with preparation and strengthening for the Intermediate Matwork Repertoire (Level 3/4), introduction of the Intermediate Repertoire (Level 4/5), or full execution of Intermediate exercises (Level 5). Level 5/6 slowly incorporates the Advanced Repertoire. Challenge and intensity is added through the use of small equipment such as overballs, flex bands, hand weights, stability balls, fitness circles, toning balls, body bars and foam rollers.
