In 2017, Stephanie celebrates her 28th year as a certified fitness leader and has the most combined group fitness/pilates instructional experience than any other fitness trainer in Prince Edward Island.  She graduated in 1990 with an honour's degree in Social Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island and received her Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1993.

Stephanie Noonan 

Stephanie graduated from Dalhousie University in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science, specialising in pediatrics and neonatal care. She began her fitness journey with IFC certifications in Basic Fitness and Group Fitness leadership in 1995 and became STOTT PILATES certified in Essential and Intermediate matwork in 2004 and in Essential and Intermediate Reformer in 2007.  She is also certified as of 2006 in Aradia Pole Fitness levels 1-4 and Pole Flow, Cardiolates/Rebounder training in 2007 and Group TRX Suspension training in 2012.  
Stephanie continues to educate herself annually with many professional development workshops including specialised pilates approaches for groups such as pre-natal, osteoporosis and rehabiliation of the shoulder and lumbar regions. Finally, she is certified in Merrithew Fitness' TOTAL BARRE training in levels 1 and 2. 
She believes fitness is a part of a healthy lifestyle and keeping it fun and inspiring makes it more do-able.  She loves helping people achieve a better sense of health and well-being through fitness and getting them to smile while they are getting fit!  

Kathleen MacPhee

From the start, Kathleen has been a “mover”.  From fidgeting her way through school, climbing trees, running the country hills, playing various sports to eventually finding Pilates in her teens.  After practicing Pilates on her own for several years, she decided to pursue an education in Pilates in 2010 and began working with imotion fitness!  STOTT PILATES provided a comprehensive 300+ hour training in Essential and Intermediate MatWork and Reformer - which was just the beginning!   She maintains continuing education every year with STOTT PILATES,  as well as recently completed the “Injuries and Special Populations” course where she received specialized training for Pre/Post Natal, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and other special conditions.  Kathleen teaches Matwork and Reformer both in group and private settings, and is also certified in TRX training.  

She believes Pilates happens in and out of the studio, with awareness of how you’re breathing, how you’re moving, and how you’re thinking.  She lives in Belfast with her 3 young children and husband, and everyone does Pilates!

Buffy Wallace

I have been dancing since I was 11 years old and been involved in fitness since I was 16.  I first started teaching Low Impact and a Stretch class for Toronto’s first Goodlife on Bloor St. in 1987 and danced and performed professionally from 1983-1990. 

I started travelling and teaching fitness again in 1991 while beginning new careers in Hospitality Management and eventually, Investments and Insurance.  I moved back to PEI in 1997 and bought an art gallery in Wheatley River and ran that for five years while teaching ballet, jazz and contemporary\modern at Dance Umbrella, at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. I taught for eight seasons at Dance Umbrella and during that time I got my Hatha Yoga Certification and developed a French\English program teaching preschool Creative Movement and Yoga as well as Yoga for adults in both languages. In 2010, I got a basic level teacher training in Ballroom Dance including Foxtrot, Jive and Waltz.  

My Fitness classes are a combination of old style, mostly low impact aerobics and current high energy, high intensity movements to give every muscle a chance to work...especially the heart!

My Yoga classes are Hatha based, however, I inject some Ashtanga and Kundalini for fluidity and breath work.   Each class is created for the basic student.  Intermediate and Advanced students with find plenty of space to expand and intensify the postures.  My intention for every class is, of course to increase flexibility and strength, but more importantly, to build a variety of sequences that will leave every student feeling lighter than when they arrived.  A feeling that can carry them  through the rest of the day and often into the next.

I am currently studying and practicing for my Pilates Teaching Certification which will be a wonderful addition to my own fitness program. My teaching, through the Pilates lense, will also greatly benefit my students whether they come to me for Adult or Senior Fitness, Yoga, Follow Me Circuit or Pilates.  In my opinion, Pilates is to Fitness what Ballet is to Dance.  Pilates is the foundation.  A place to go to in our minds and bodies that recalls the basics of movement.  When illness or injury occurs, a regular Pilates practice will provide the core strength and understanding required to handle life’s challenges.

My intention is to continue to learn and grow as a teacher and guide.  To help others learn how to strengthen and protect their bodies from aging and injury and ignite a strong continuing sense of well being.  Physical Fitness and feeling good are essential parts to a life lived to the fullest from the inside out.
